A Washington Township resident was stopped while driving home on Pleasant Grove Road just off Schooley’s around 9:30 p.m. May 14, police said.
The vehicle — described as an older red sedan with alternating flashing blue and red lights inside — pulled in behind the resident and turned the lights off before the resident became suspicious and drove away, police said.
The sedan once again followed the resident from behind and tailgated them before turning abruptly onto Wehrli Road, police said.
“Washington Township Police drive black Chevrolet Tahoes, with a few Chevrolet Caprices still in rotation,” the department clarified. “The vehicles are well lit.”
“They will not turn off their lights after pulling someone over and will identify themselves upon approaching the vehicle,” the department added. “Our video equipment is running the entire time.”
Police remind anyone getting stopped to put their flashers on and pull to a safe location.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Washington Township Police Department.
